I'm Kinda Gettin' Into This Hockey Thing

Late last night I played computer solitaire and frequently checked in on the Preds vs. Ducks game in Anaheim. It finally ended after after an exciting 3rd period and an overtime.

PREDS BEAT DUCKS IN OVERTIME, TAKE 3-2 SERIES LEAD

This the fifth game, so the series ain't over yet, but this is the first time the Preds have won 3 games in a playoff series. Go Preds!

  2. I have had an on again/off again relationship with the sport. At various times in my life it has interested me, and then not so much.

One thing I can say for it is that it is no game for pansies! I guess I would say that it comes in #2 on my list (College football being light years ahead at #1...not pro, however).

    I know you're a baseball fan, too. Oh wait...you're a Cubs fan...

  3. I watched that game and was rooting for the Preds. Srsly. Nashville deserved the win, they dominated the play all night... except for when they made mistakes and the Hated Ducks capitalized. Justice prevailed, the Preds won, and it's on to Game Six.

I hope there's a Game Seven, too. Us Wings fans LOVE to see the competition beat themselves up and tire themselves out before the next round. ;-)

  4. Fergot: The Preds playing with a LEAD goin' into Game Six? Who'd a thunk it? ;-)

  5. Deb, You were right; I'm coming around. The hometown boys are doing good and I'm all for that. I hope they can keep going.

Andy, It's interesting to me now because it's the home town team (a kind of doormat in the past) finally winning some big ones. Your barb about the Cubs stung, but it's ohhh so true. I think to be a Cubs fan, you almost have to be a kind of masochist. They give you just enough hope to string you along and then, bam, they get blown out 12-2 and you realize they were losers all along. But then next time they're on WGN, there I am, right in front of the TV watching the slaughter.

Buck, I'm writing this Sunday night and they've already won game 6 so it's on to the semifinals. I wonder how they'll do in that series and who their opponent will be. Go Preds!
