Doyle Dykes is an amazing guitarist. Even though he's been playing for many years, I first heard him only a few days ago on the Bill Cody morning show on WSM 650 AM. (Yeah, I still listen to AM, especially in my truck. You probably think I have a rotary phone, too. Nope. Mine has fancy push buttons. Besides, the AM station I tune in is not just any AM station, it's WSM, the famous Air Castle of the South, home of the oldest running radio show in the US. I don't have to tell you what show that is, do I?)
Anyway, like I said, Mr. Dykes is exceptional. I believe the young man playing with him in the second video is his son, who's pretty dang good himself. Enjoy.
Guys like that just freak me out.ReplyDelete
Me too, Andy. My old shaky fingers would blow out a gasket if I tried to move 'em that fast. To tell the truth, they woulda froze up when younger too. Dykes can play the geetar.ReplyDelete
I stole the first one. WOW!ReplyDelete
One of the thangs I said yesterday... and that Blogger ate (burp)... was I don't think JFK listened to Mr. Waters. Hyannis is jest too danged white for Muddy.
Speaking of something that'll make you throw your own instruments in the dumpster, because you suck...ReplyDelete
Andy, that kid and his brothers are amazing. Thanks for the link.ReplyDelete
Buck, steal away. I'm sure you're right about JFK being too white for Muddy.ReplyDelete
